Enjoy accessible chair-based movements, positive affirmations expressed through movement and guided deep relaxation. No previous yoga experience is needed.

This welcoming weekly online class offers an accessible and enjoyable combination of gentle chair-based yoga, positive affirmations expressed through movement and guided deep relaxation.
Participants can join individually from home or as part of a care home, day centre, supported-living service, residential setting or community organisation.
The class is delivered live online and is open to participants throughout the UK and worldwide.
No yoga mat or floor work is required. Participants simply need a stable chair or wheelchair, comfortable clothing and enough space to move safely.
Family members, carers and support workers are welcome to assist where needed.
Each live one-hour session brings together:
Simple, accessible seated movements
Affirmations in Motion
A calming guided deep relaxation
All movements are designed to be practised while seated. They are introduced gently and clearly, with repetition and time for participants to work at their own pace.
The class is accessible to many people with reduced mobility and many wheelchair users. Participants are always encouraged to work within their own comfortable range of movement, with support where needed.
No previous yoga experience is required, and there is no pressure, competition or expectation to perform movements in a particular way.
The sessions include positive affirmations expressed through simple movements.
Wendy calls these Affirmations in Motion—an approach she has created to help participants experience positive words through both the mind and body.
The words and movements are introduced in a simple, enjoyable and accessible way, helping to encourage confidence, strength, calm and positive self-expression.
Every session concludes with a calming guided deep relaxation, usually lasting approximately 15–20 minutes.
This is an important part of the class, giving participants time to rest, become settled and experience a sense of calm and wellbeing.
Participants can relax comfortably in their chair or wheelchair. Those joining from home may choose another safe and comfortable resting position if they prefer.
The class has been created especially for adults with learning disabilities and additional needs, wheelchair users, and older adults who would benefit from gentle movement because of reduced or limited mobility, including adults with:
Learning disabilities
Autism or ADHD
Sensory processing needs
Physical disabilities or limitations
Reduced mobility
Anxiety or reduced confidence with movement
Additional or complex needs
A preference for gentle, repetitive and predictable activities
It may also be suitable for adults who use a chair for support, many wheelchair users and those who find traditional exercise classes too fast, overwhelming or physically inaccessible.
Everyone is encouraged to participate in their own way. It is always acceptable to make a movement smaller, adapt it, rest or simply watch and listen.
Appropriate staff support should be available where required.
Regular participation may help to support:
Gentle mobility and joint movement
Body awareness and coordination
Confidence in movement and participation
Relaxation and a greater sense of calm
Emotional and sensory regulation
Positive self-expression
Familiarity, routine and predictability
Social connection and inclusion
Enjoyment and a sense of achievement
The aim is not to perform complicated yoga postures. The aim is to help each participant move in a way that feels comfortable, experience positive words through movement, relax deeply and feel included and successful.
