A New Chapter

As some of you know, I’ve spent the last few years working in special needs schools, offering yoga sessions to children and young people with a wide range of additional needs. It’s a job I love deeply, but it also means my time during the school day is fully committed.
Over the past year, I’ve been thinking more and more about reconnecting with adults with learning difficulties, as I used to teach before COVID. Adults with special needs and learning difficulties, especially, benefit so greatly from yoga, but often have limited access to truly inclusive, accessible classes.
That idea became even more urgent when some of my sixth-form students, who have been doing yoga with me for years, shared how sad they were to be finishing school. They asked: “Will we still be able to do yoga with you after we leave?” Their question stayed with me. I wanted to find a way to say: Yes, you can.
And so, the seed of the new Wednesday “Yoga for Adults with Special Needs” online class was planted.
Sessions include simple movement, breathing techniques, and calming practices designed for inclusivity, regulation, and fun.
Now, everyone can benefit from therapeutic movement and relaxation from the comfort of their home, no matter where they live.
Then, there's the Friday “Yoga for Every-Body” Class.
Over the years, so many lovely teachers, teaching assistants, school staff, and friends have asked if I could run yoga classes in their towns. I always wished I could say yes, but with my school work, there simply aren’t enough hours in the day. Many of these same people have told me they’d love to come to the after-school staff yoga sessions I teach as part of teacher well-being activities — but busy schedules, commuting, and family commitments often get in the way.
The Friday class is for all of them — and for anyone else looking for a gentle, welcoming, inclusive space to practise yoga from home, and with a replay available, you can relax and practice at a time that fits into your life.
Then, life gave me an unexpected pause.
On 12th May, I broke my wrist. While I have been recovering, I have had the time and space to set up this brand-new website using a fantastic new platform that allows me to offer live online classes and much more. The site will evolve, over time. This means I can now stay connected with students I have worked with before and open the doors for new people, from all over, to practise yoga with me from the comfort of their own homes.
This isn’t just about convenience — it’s about accessibility, inclusion, and making sure yoga is available to everybody. Whether you have learning difficulties, a disability, or just haven’t found a yoga class that works for you, this space is for you.
As time goes on, I’ll be adding more to the offerings — from on-demand sessions to downloadable resources and themed short courses. I aim to start a monthly newsletter, filled with updates, tips, inspiration, recipes and a few calming tools to help you feel supported and uplifted all year round.
So here we are: a new website, a renewed vision, and two weekly online classes — one for adults with special needs, and one for absolutely everyone.
I hope to see you (and maybe even some familiar faces!) on the mat very soon.
